The world can be difficult for children and teens today, and the risks are only growing more challenging. Marijuana is now legal in 24 states, including New York; drug and alcohol use is on the rise; students face bullying, school violence, and cyberbullying; and more adolescents report feeling anxious and stressed than ever before!
These issues are often roadblocks to a young person’s overall health and wellness, educational journey and lifelong achievement. That’s why The Archdiocese of New York Drug Abuse Prevention Program (ADAPP), along with our community coalition partners, Forward South Bronx Coalition (FSBC) and Throggs Neck Community Action Partnership (TNCAP), provide resources and information to families, teachers, children, and community members to tackle the issues youth face. We’re all in this together.
Preventative Resources to Tackle Stressful Issues
The Archdiocese of New York Drug Abuse Prevention Program (ADAPP), along with our community coalition partners, Forward South Bronx Coalition (FSBC) and Throggs Neck Community Action Partnership (TNCAP), are committed to helping schools throughout the country create a safe, supportive environment where children can learn and grow into healthy adults. Through dedicated programs, education, media campaigns, and community engagement, our goal is to build resilient, confident youth ready and able to overcome challenges and create a successful future.
Researched-based Partnership with Connect with Kids
To create The Risk Is Real campaign and materials, ADAPP partnered with CWK Network, a leading media and education company that specializes in developing research-based programming, media, and education about today’s most prevalent youth issues.
Dedicated to Ending Underage Marijuana Use
The Risk Is Real campaign is dedicated to ending underage marijuana use. Just like addressing underage alcohol use, it can be a challenge. We can get there by increasing adult and youth awareness about the risks and encouraging families and other caring adults to talk with youth about the true impact of marijuana misuse.
We believe that together, we can inspire our teens to live productive, healthy lives.
